GreenWay Wins at Greater Sydney Planning Awards

GSC Awards 2017

Minister for Planning Anthony Roberts, Chief Commissioner Lucy Turnbull AO, Friend of the GreenWay spokesperson Jennifer Kent, and GreenWay Place Manager Nick Chapman.

The GreenWay has won the “Great Community Led Project” section at the inaugural Greater Sydney Planning Awards last night which may provide useful leverage in the future. Congratulations to Nick who wrote the submission when under great pressure. It is a wonderful acknowledgement of the community’s commitment to this wonderful project.

Thanks to Jamie Parker MLA and the Petersham Bowling Club, the $1000 prize money has been secured for this year’s community photography prize.
In another development, a small parcel of land with an unclear title record, near Lewisham West Light Rail Station, is now owned by the Inner West Council.  It is being incorporated into plans for the GreenWay.  It is anticipated that the building of the missing links round the Lewisham West will commence in 2018.
